Coming home...

Deliciously comforting...

I'm a fan of pizza. There's no doubting it as I am sure I waffle on about it enough! Homeslice has been on my radar since that time I accidentally walked past it in Neal's Yard and saw the huge pizzas and the matching huge smiles.

When walking nearby work one day, I came across a boarded up restaurant (Previously Japanese then a Wine Bar) with the magical words and promptly came back to report it to my like minded pizza loving friend. Homeslice was coming to work. Or near it... on Wells Street, in Fitzrovia!

Last week, I paid a visit. It won't be the last.

So what's the deal?

All the flavours...

First, the pizzas are available in slices (NY styles) or whole. 20inch of whole pizza. 20inch of amazing! You can even do half and half so you can get a few more unique flavours into your gob! The flavours are tasty (who would have thought creamed corn as a base?!) and the base/crust is tasty - not too thin and soggy, not too thick and stodgy. Usually I would say 3 people to a pizza but when you have 2 tired with 1 hungover person involved, 2 to one pizza is enough. (even if I was pretty much ready to pop at the end and had a pizza baby for the rest of the afternoon and into the night)

Arm for size reference though it's clearly nearly as big as the table itself!

Second, the service was top notch and we were even given a glass of prosecco each as the pizza was taking longer than expected. This may be down to the fact they've just opened and everyone is on top behaviour but it all seemed so genuine so here's hoping it sticks around!

Third, if you're sharing it's not that pricey! At £20 a pizza, it works out to be about the same as other 'hip' pizza joints.

Would I go back even if it wasn't just up the road from work? Yes! I've raved about it to everyone already and planning on when to go back next. (soon)
